Webitat is Entex’s biological fixed media system engineered to harness the patented BioWebTM media to boost performance of Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge (IFAS) systems or Submerged Fixed Film (SFF) systems. Our Webitat modules are designed to actively manage the attached environment to foster optimal biomass growth on the BioWeb.
Webitat modules are comprised of three main components
- The BioWeb upon which the biofilm accumulates.
- Integral diffusers which oxygenate bacteria and scour the BioWeb to ensure the biofilm stays at its optimum thickness.
- Shrouding of the unit creates an air lift pump effect to optimize mixing and eliminate predatory organisms.

Webitat for lagoons harnesses the power of our Webitat technology. Webitat modules turbocharge wastewater treatment in lagoons by addressing the three primary limitations: mixing, aeration, and biomass concentration.
Webitat is perfect for oxidation ditches
Webitat for oxidation ditches increases BOD removal, enhances nitrification and denitrification for total nitrogen removal. Webitat modules are used along the ditch walls to provide enhanced treatment without impeding flow velocity or causing solids settling. Webitats are the only proven in situ IFAS upgrade for oxidation ditches.
Webitat is perfect for SBRs
Webitat is ideal for use in SBRs and accommodates the variable depth and decantation. Webitats have successfully solved both capacity increases and treatment limitations in SBR applications
