In the spring of 2008, the city of Coeur D’Alene, ID elected to improve nitrification by removing an additional 133 lbs per day of NH3-N from their existing 6 MGD activated sludge system. In March of 2008, five Webitat modules with BioWeb fixed media arrived on site for installation. This installation worked so well, the city purchased another five Webitat modules in the early 2009. The challenge of nitrification at this mountain resort town was increased by the extreme cold temperatures routinely experienced. Media Installed:
